New Year Video Message from Sally Bingham

Jan 6, 2010 | What's New

Happy New Year! Thank you for being a part of Interfaith Power and Light this year. We made some important advancements in our campaign for climate protection in 2009, and 2010 promises even more opportunities. We need your ongoing participation to make this the year we make history and launch a clean energy revolution.

The Copenhagen Accord negotiated last month, though a far cry from the binding international commitments we need, does represent an important step forward. Now, the eyes of world are on the U.S. Senate to see if the world’s largest economy will pass legislation to cap global warming pollution.

To ensure the voice of the faith community is heard, we are inviting clergy from all over the country to join us in a national Preach-In on Global Warming on the weekend of February 14 in honor of Valentine’s Day. If you are a lay person, you can organize an event in your congregation, such as a film screening, to educate your community about global warming and the religious response. We will provide you with all the materials you need. Valentine’s Day represents a powerful opportunity to talk about loving our neighbors by protecting Creation, and we hope you will join us.

Learn more and register for the Preach-In today: www.interfaithpowerandlight.org/PreachIn.

Thank you for all of your support, and let’s make 2010 a monumental year for climate protection!
