At a discussion of coal ash disposal, Kentucky IPL executive director Tim Darst explained, “It’s just piled there. So the wind blows and it blows it out into people’s yards and into their lungs. It increases the rates of cancer and it gets into the whole food chain — so it gets into the water systems.”
