GreenPeace: Will LA Leaders Stand Up for a Coal-free City by 2020?

As the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power considers its Integrated Resource Plan for the next decade, the source of up to 40% of LA’s power is under scrutiny. Coal provides 39% of the energy used by Los Angeles. In the light of the recent defeat of Proposition 23 and the environmental coalitions active throughout the state, there is hope that change can come to southern California. Organizations like California Interfaith Power & Light were a major part of that campaign and may have a great opportunity to shape the future as well.
