Portland Press Herald: Environmental advocates defend state safeguards

Newly elected Gov. Paul LePage listened Thursday as a series of speakers discussed the environmental laws that have been good for their lives, businesses and health. He did not reverse his pledge to roll back regulations that dampen certain economic development.  Sam Saltonstall, board president of Maine Interfaith Power & Light, remarked, “I am hopeful he heard what we said. Actions will speak louder than words.”
