Due to the efforts of IPL online activists, and a groundswell of public support for the EPA, four different amendments undermining the Clean Air Act failed in the Senate on April 6.
But our work is never done. Congress will continue to attack the Clean Air Act. Forty-seven Republicans and seventeen Democrats voted for at least one of the amendments. And the biggest polluters in the US paid over half a million dollars per vote.
These actions being taken in Washington are shameful. As people of faith, we must continually make the moral case about how wrong this is.
If you have a few moments, please call your senators at (202) 224-3121 to thank them or tell them about your disappointment about their votes on these amendments. The following senators voted the wrong way.
