Congregations around Stanly County, North Carolina, are getting excited about the possibilities of solar power. “When we heard about this, we said our churches need to hear about this,” said Nancy Bryant, a member of First Lutheran Church, which sponsored the June 2nd event. The North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light teamed up with the Appalachian Institute for Renewable Energy to talk about the environmental and financial benefits of a switch to solar energy, igniting the hopes and sparking the interests of local church members and leaders.
