Stone Mountain-Redan Patch: Faith-Based Environmental Group Helps Lithonia Church Go Green

The First Afrikan Presbyterian Church in Lithonia is one of 80 congregations that has become a part of the innovative program started by Georgia Interfaith Power & Light. GIPL helps congregations reduce energy costs by analyzing their energy usage and giving grants to make energy-efficient improvements. They are working on implementing a two-phase campaign to educate homeowners on how to reduce their energy usage.
