Market Watch: Religious Leaders Announce Principles for Ethical Marcellus Shale Drilling

Religious leaders of Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light released the organization’s position paper on the Marcellus Shale drilling entitled, “Principles for considering Marcellus Shale Drilling: An ethical analysis.” Within this paper they stated changes that must be made before any sort of drilling could be morally done. “Mining and the burning of coal for electricity causes global warming,” which the document states, “is a corruption of the goodness of God’s creation.” “We must learn from our history” Rabbi Swartz says, “not repeat it.”
