Faith Conference to address climate change

DES MOINES – Iowa Interfaith Power & Light will hold its third annual “Faith in a Changing Climate” conference on Thursday, Aug.29, from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Jester Park Lodge, 11407 N.W. Jester Park Drive, Granger.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together people of faith from around Iowa who want to learn more about climate change and how they can make a difference on this issue through practical, energy-saving actions in their congregations.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Congregational Facilities” and will feature Mark A. Torgerson as the keynote speaker. Togerson is professor of worship, theology and architecture at Judson University in Elgin, Illinois. Torgerson’s most recent book is “Greening Spaces for Worship and Ministry: Congregations, Their Buildings, and Creation Care,” published by Alban.
