FREDERICKSBURG — The Environmental Protection Agency will release today its revised draft plan for carbon pollution standards for new power plants. It’s being viewed as the first major action to flow from President Obama’s Climate Action Plan.
When the president announced his plan at Georgetown University this summer, columnist Charles Krauthammer called it “President Obama’s Folly,” which he wrote “required more faith than science” — as if to suggest that faith itself was contravened by good science.
Those of us from the faith community who endorse the president’s Climate Action Plan come from all political parties and perspectives. We’re not just those “blue helmeted U.N., liberal Democrats, and misinformed evangelicals,” as the late Rev. Jerry Falwell told Christiane Amanpour in his last public interview for “God’s Warriors,” an Emmy award-winning CNN program with a segment about my “green faith.”
