Kansas: McPherson Sentinal – “Care For Creation” Conference Features Kansas IPL

On Feb. 8 and 9, Anita Jost of Windom, chaired the 2015 Legislative Event For Advocacy In Faith, (LEAF), First United Methodist Church in Topeka.

The 2015 Theme was “Care For Creation.” The annual event is co-sponsored by Great Plains United Methodist Women of Kansas, Church Women United of Kansas and Kansas Christian United.

On the evening of Feb. 8, 70 people heard the keynote speaker, Tom Averill, who appeared as William Jenning Bryan Oleander, and Senator Carolyn McGinn, 31st District, who presented talking points on current issues before the Kansas Legislature.

There were 130 attendees at the Feb. 9 session, which opened with worship. Keynote speaker Rabbi Moti Reiber, Kansas Interfaith Power and Light, spoke on climate change and the responsibility to care for the earth. Keep reading…
