Motivated by Scripture and the preservation of God’s creation, Pastor Brian Flory and his congregation at Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren, 2810 Beacon St., are working to support solar energy in Indiana.
Last year, Flory was approached by the Hoosier Interfaith Power and Light — a group that promotes renewable energy, energy conservation and energy efficiency as a faith response to climate change — about a grant. The Seventh Day Initiative grant, a program that works with denominational bodies to support their congregations to save energy, was a huge opportunity, and the congregation jump at the idea.
