WILKES-BARRE — The leader of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection came to Wilkes-Barre on Monday to hear opinions about new, federal regulations that will force power plants to slash carbon emissions.

A pastor, a rabbi, an environmental conservationist and an energy efficiency expert took the podium at Wilkes University’s Henry Student Center to offer support for the plan recently revealed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency. They said governmental leaders have a moral obligation to protect the planet, rather than the profits of energy companies that rely on harmful fossil fuels like coal. Read More
