We live in an amazing and holy moment where decisions made at many levels can have enormous consequences that lead to life or death. Pope Francis, I believe, realizes the implications and gravity of leadership in our moment.

Unveiling the encyclical Laudato Si, Praised Be, a call for substantial dialogue as we face challenges of poverty, climate change and their implications, is impeccably timed. The papal visit to United States and the first ever papal address to Congress, followed by his address to the U.N., were very strategic, but not in a political way.
