Duke Energy has asked state regulators to fine advocacy group NC WARN for selling solar power to a Greensboro church instead of Duke, as state law generally requires.

It is the latest round in a battle over the extent of Duke’s, or any other utility’s, monopoly power over electricity sales in North Carolina. The fines could exceed $125,000.  Read More
