Dr. Tionna Jenkins, Ph.D., MPH, Founder & Content Strategist, Plate It Healthy; Certified Plant-Based Nutrition; Certified in Diabetes Management
Dr. Jenkins will present “A Whole Food Plant-Based Journey: Food, Faith, Environment and Policy.”
She will help us understand the importance of diet, nutrition and lifestyle change – why it is important to eat an optimal diet and the impact that it has on our environment, decisions and health outcomes. She will share her personal journey and transition to a whole food plant-based diet and why it is important to leverage change for all communities to have access to a whole food plant-based diet and lifestyle.
Dr. Jenkins has more than 15 years of public health policy practitioner experience. Her passion lies in utilizing her education in public policy, public health and experience to build movements resulting in effective change in solving complex problems.
Dr. Jenkins earned a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Arkansas, an MPH from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a B.S. from Philander Smith College. She also holds a non-profit graduate certification from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and certifications from both T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University (New York) and Emory University (Georgia) in plant-based nutrition and diabetes management.
