Emanuel Lutheran Church of Pleasantville celebrates Earth Day with a special Sunday Service. The focus of the service is the care of God’s creatures and in particular the plight of bees, our all too important pollinators! We created a number of nests for solitary bees (called bee hotels) to distribute to congregants and visitors. The bee hotels are made from the wood of our old processional cross and other re-purposed items. The symbol of Christ’s death on the cross is now a symbol of renewed life. Wildflower seeds will also be distributed so that we can make our own farms in a planter. Come and celebrate this special day with us.
