A special service at Church of the Crossroads to celebrate our sacred connection to the earth and our spiritual responsibility to be stewards of all of Creation. Dr. Kati Corlew will deliver a reflection on “Climate Change Justice, Faith, and Action,” focusing on the Pacific Islands area. All are welcome to join us in worship, song, reflection, and an invitation to action in this special service.
Dr. Kati Corlew is a Research Fellow with the Pacific Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments Program at the East-West Center. She is a Cultural Community Psychologist who researches the human dimensions of climate change in the Pacific. For her dissertation, she studied the cultural impacts of climate change in Tuvalu, a Pacific Island nation threatened to be submerged by sea-level rise. Before moving to the Pacific, she spent four years living and working in solidarity with the poor in inner-city Chicago with the Claretian Volunteers, a peace and social justice agency. As a full-time volunteer, she worked with gangs, homeless populations, and undocumented immigrants.
